Despite numerous requests by his constituents to hold a town hall, he has refused. We held an empty-chair town hall, and he refused to acknowledge it, despite being sent the invitation via email and delivered in person.

During the State of the Union on March 4, 2025, Representative Gooden ripped a sign out of one of his female colleague's Representative Stansbury's hands after exclaiming that her exercising her First Amendment right was "terrible".

He doesn't have a fundamental grasp of the Constitution and the importance of checks and balances. He does not understand that there are 3 co-equal branches of government.
